In 2018, I shadowed a foxhunt here in middle Tennessee. I took a number of photos as the horses and riders prepared to leave for the day. This portrait is from one of my favorite photos from that day. A grey horse stands at attention, blowing smoke, while its rider gathers their reins. These are the last quiet moments of anticipation, before they strike out on the day’s adventure.
