“My, what big lies you have”

Inspired by Aesop’s fables and current events, “My, what big lies you have” is the second painting in my narrative series. The first being, “I told the crows.”

In this painting, which has been described by some as “Chronicles of Narnia meets Alice in Wonderland with teeth,” a crow recruits a wolf for revolution. The wolf and crow advance on the viewer, while a young girl and a bear cub run into the forest to find Mama Bear.

This second crow is holding yellow mimosa flowers, which were seen as a sign of solidarity and resistance among women and distributed on Italy’s first international women’s day following WWII in 1946.
